Dark Eye Circles – A few things to avoid

0

Dark eye circles cause you to look worn out, sick, and many years older than you really are. There are things you can do to lessen or get rid of them. Here are a number of issues to avoid:

1. Rubbing your eyes
Rubbing your eyes is probably the worst thing that you can do. Your skin under the eye is very thin and delicate and rubbing it will make the skin reddish and irritated, it could actually result in bruising. Even light pressure and friction around the sensitive skin could break tiny capillaries under the skin, which causes small quantities of blood to leak and pool under the eyes.

In the event that you already have dark circles, rubbing the eyes will make them even worse. If you do not currently have them, keep on rubbing your eyes and you will.

2. Eating too much salt
Consuming too much salt may interfere with blood flow, causing the veins to become engorged, bluer, and much more visible through the thin skin around below the eyes. Too much salt also tends to make our bodies retain excess fluids, which can lead to puffiness under the eye area.

3. Smoking
Smoking cigarettes is also thought to produce vascular issues through the entire body. Not only is it a significant threat to general health, smoking-related vascular problems could make the veins in the under eye area.

4. Insufficient sleep
For most people, not sleeping enough can be a sure way to help make dark eye circles worse. There are a variety of reasons why such things happen but a lack of sleep results in poor nutrient absorption and will eventually lead to reduced circulation, both of which can cause blood pooling in the eye area and developing dark eye circles. Lack of sleep also tends to make the skin paler, which will make eye discoloration more prominent and noticeable. Over a prolonged period of time, a lack of sleep will raise stress, which doubles these negative effects.

5. Not getting enough vitamin K or vitamin B12
Studies have shown that for many, insufficient amounts of vitamin K and/or vitamin B12 might be a major trigger for dark eye circles. Leafy green vegetables like cabbage and spinach are great sources of these types of vitamins.

6. A Lack of fluids
If you are not consuming enough water and other healthy fluids, your circulation will ultimately be effected. Whenever this happens, the blood vessels under your eyes become bigger and look darker.
